Individual class presentation recorded at the Irish Pagan School Conference in late December 2019, on Irish Magic & Folklore.
In this session, Orlagh looked at the magic practiced in Ireland as a predominantly Catholic country. Our ancestors were devout Christians - with a firm belief in supernatural powers that couldn't always fit into the general Catholic gnosis. Orlagh explored these practices under three headings: candle lighting, health, and wealth/ prosperity. What did previous (and current!) generations do, and how does this fit into the general Catholic gnosis - and even a modern New Age practice?

"I have been diving into the online conference, as I couldn't attend live, and I have been just blown away. Totally. Like never before. The presenters and the material have been just extraordinary. But it is so much more. This conference has so opened my eyes to something so so profound... how alive, contemporary and evolving Irish paganism is. I know that this is no surprise to you, but as a solitary, wandering soul in exile in a far away land it has been incredibly exciting. Thank you so much for putting this together and sharing your world with us."

Orlagh currently describes herself as a Pagan Catholic. Her main relationship in the Irish Pantheon is with Brighid, in whatever form She chooses to present Herself. Orlagh runs a group on Facebook dedicated to Brighid - called Brigid's Forge at https://www.facebook.com/groups/318562765289760/ and is involved with women's circles in various ways. She practices reiki & reflexology for fun; and by day, she masquerades as an engineer. Learn More at https://mybrigidsforge.wordpress.com/

Finally, a place to learn pagan practices that are modern, relevant, and well researched. This school honors the past, lives in the present and preps you for the future. It is not a guess work reconstruction of ancient beliefs based on someone's intuition, but rather a living working practice built on the lore we still have available today.
